Title: ALIGNMENT / HANDLING DIAGNOSIS: REAR WHEEL ALIGNMENT: ADJUSTMENT (2008 Sequoia)

ADJUSTMENT

NOTICE:

For vehicles equipped with VSC, if the wheel alignment has been adjusted, and if suspension or underbody components have been removed/installed or replaced, be sure to perform the following initialization procedure in order for the system to function normally:

  1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal for more than 2 seconds.
  2. Reconnect the negative battery terminal.

1. INSPECT TIRE TIRE / WHEEL: TIRE AND WHEEL SYSTEM: INSPECTION (2008 Sequoia)+

2. MEASURE VEHICLE HEIGHT ALIGNMENT / HANDLING DIAGNOSIS: FRONT WHEEL ALIGNMENT: ADJUSTMENT (2008 Sequoia)+

3. INSPECT CAMBER

(a) Install a camber-caster-kingpin gauge or put the wheels on a wheel alignment tester.

(b) Inspect the camber.

Standard Camber Inclination (Unloaded Vehicle):

Drive Type

Rear Suspension Type

Camber Inclination

2WD

Coil

-1°21' +/- 45'

(-1.35°+/- 0.75°)

Air

-1°37' +/- 45'

(-1.62°+/- 0.75°)

4WD

Coil

-1°13' +/- 45'

(-1.22°+/- 0.75°)

Air

-1°29' +/- 45'

(-1.48°+/- 0.75°)

If the measured value is not within the specified range, inspect the suspension parts for damage and wear. Replace parts as necessary because camber cannot be properly adjusted with any damaged or worn parts.

4. ADJUST CAMBER

(a) Loosen the camber adjust cam nut.

(b) Rotate the camber adjust cam on the vehicle side of No. 2 lower arm to adjust camber.

Standard Camber Inclination (Unloaded Vehicle):

Drive Type

Rear Suspension Type

Camber Inclination

2WD

Coil

-1°21' +/- 30'

(-1.35°+/- 0.5°)

Air

-1°37' +/- 30'

(-1.62°+/- 0.5°)

4WD

Coil

-1°13' +/- 30'

(-1.22°+/- 0.5°)

Air

-1°29' +/- 30'

(-1.48°+/- 0.5°)

(c) Tighten the nut.

Torque: 250 N·m (2549 kgf·cm, 185 ft·lbf)

5. INSPECT TOE-IN

Standard toe-in:

B - A 0 +/- 2 mm (0 +/- 0.08 in.)

If the toe-in is not within the specified range, inspect the suspension parts and replace if necessary.

6. ADJUST TOE-IN

(a) Loosen the toe adjust cam bolt.

(b) Rotate the toe adjust plate on the vehicle side of lower arm No. 2 to adjust toe-in.

Standard toe-in:

0 +/- 1 mm (0 +/- 0.04 in.)

(c) Tighten the bolt.

Torque: 120 N·m (1224 kgf·cm, 89 ft·lbf)

7. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL (w/ VSC)

NOTICE:

Disconnect the negative battery terminal for more than 2 seconds.

8. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL (w/ VSC)

Torque: 5.4 N·m (55 kgf·cm, 48 in·lbf)
